Back in December 2008, a leaked product roadmap revealed that Rogers Wireless would launch the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1a in the third quarter. Earlier this month, rumours placed the release at June 30th. Now comes word from The Boy Genius Report sources that the XPERIA X1a will in fact launch on June 9th. This will be a soft launch aimed at areas and stores where data plans are popular.
A wider launch will follow on on the originally leaked date of June 30th.
Look for Rogers to offer the XPERIA X1 at a promotional price of CA$249.99 with a three-year service contract. Once the promotion ends, the price will climb to CA$299.99. Without a contract, the XPERIA X1 will set you back between CA$649 and CA$749.
