Earlier this week, Rogers Wireless and Nokia announced the launch of the Nokia Surge, the “first quick messaging device based on Symbian”.
Texting-happy Canadians can now rejoice with the arrival of the Nokia Surge, available exclusively at Rogers Wireless. Nokia is pleased to announce the launch of its newest quick messaging phone in Canada, which allows users to keep in touch and in style whether using instant messaging, text or email, sending multimedia messages, OVI Share, or updating their favourite social media networks.
The Nokia Surge is powered by the Symbian S60 FP2 operating system. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band WCDMA/HSDPA connectivity, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, GPS with A-GPS support (OviMaps and TeleNav GPS Navigator), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR with A2DP, a 2.0MP camera, a 2.5mm audio jack, an FM radio, a microSD card slot (supporting cards up to 16GB), and a 1500mAh battery.
The Nokia Surge is available from Rogers Wireless for CA$29.99 with a three-year contract. Prices rise to CA$99.99 with a two-year contract, CA$199.99 on a one-year contract, and CA$279.99 without a contract.
