When RIM announced its fourth quarter and year-end results for fiscal 2009, it revealed that it had reached the milestone of shipping 50 million BlackBerries. Of those, some 26 million devices were shipped in RIM’s fiscal 2009 year alone.
RIM also revealed that it now had about 25 million BlackBerry subscribers after adding another 3.9 million in the last quarter alone.
In terms of revenues, RIM’s fiscal 2009 revenues reached US$11.07 billion, up 84 percent compared to the previous year. In the fourth quarter, RIM revenues were US$3.46 billion, up 24.5 percent from the previous quarter and 84 percent compared to the same quarter a year ago.
