According to BusinessWeek, Research In Motion is set to launch its BlackBerry App World on April 1st. It happens to be April Fool’s but it is also the day that CTIA Wireless kicks off.
BlackBerry App World is RIM’s application store for its BlackBerry devices. It is expected to launch in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. It will offer both free applications and paid applications which will start at US$2.99. Initially, it will only accept PayPal as a payment method.
The application marketplace space is going to get even more crowded quickly. Other Apple competitors, such as Acer, Nokia and Microsoft, are also following suit later this year.
