We first learned about the upcoming HP iPAQ K3 (codename Obsidian) back in late May courtesy of a leaked AT&T roadmap. Now, pictures of the device have surfaced. Most interesting is that these were apparently snapped in a Vietnamese mobile phone store!
There are a two interesting details: The pictured device bears AT&T branding. Second, the iPAQ K3 is clearly running Windows Mobile 6.5, confirming earlier leaked details.
According to earlier rumours, the iPAQ K3 will be powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor and Windows Mobile 6.5. It will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a QWERTY thumb keyboard, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 1400mAh battery. A couple of details have changed since the inital story: The display is no longer 2.8-inch but an AMOLED 2.43-inch QVGA display and the camera has been upped from 2MP to 3.2MP but with the loss of the LED flash.
AT&T looks set to launch the iPAQ K3 before the end of the year but pricing is still not known.
