PalmInfocenter.com is reporting that Palm is already working on a new Centro to be powered by its new webOS operating system. They quote a seemingly reliable firsthand source for the news, indicating that it would be released next fall by Sprint.
Meanwhile, PCMag.com reports that a tipster of its own indicated that a second Pre is in the works. This one would be a lower-cost, candybar device with no QWERTY keyboard.
So, is Palm already working on two new webOS devices? Or has the Pre frenzy simply whipped up a few new rumours? I suspect that Palm will have its hands full just with the Pre for the next few months, especially with a GSM model coming down the pipe a bit later in the year. But a second, cheaper device, just ahead of the next holiday season is certainly plausible.
