Palm Pre headed to O2 UK on October 30th?

Palm Pre

Back in July, Palm announced that the Palm Pre would be available in the UK, Ireland and Germany via O2 and in Spain through Movistar in time for the holidays. Since then, there has been little new information. A rumour now suggests that the launch could happen on October 30th (Could Ireland, Germany and Spain be far behind?).

Palmwebosblog.com actually posted this rumour back on August 10th. Since then, there has been little corroborating evidence and the “anonymous” source also does not inspire a lot of confidence. We’ll have to see if this develops further.

The forthcoming European version of the Palm Pre will support GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA/UMTS connectivity. Other than that, it will be the same as the CDMA version: a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen display with a ‘gestures area’, a slide-out QWERTY (QWERTZ in Germany) keyboard, 8GB of internal storage, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with A2DP, built-in GPS, accelerometer, proximity and light sensors, a 3MP camera with LED flash, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a removable battery.
