Palm Foleo to be resurrected as webOS netbook?

Palm

Palm canceled the Foleo back in September 2007 even before it hit the street. According to an analyst with Global Equities Research, Palm may be looking to revive it in a modified form. A lack of consumer interest and a change in Palm’s product strategy at about the same time led to its demise.

The new netbook would run on Palm’s new webOS and would come with an ARM processor and a 3G Qualcomm Gobi chipset. Unlike the Foleo, it would be a standalone device and would not require a connection to a Palm phone for web access. It will apparently not support native applications but only browser-based applications.

A price of US$399 is suggested but no availability or carrier details are revealed.
