The oft rumoured Palm Eos could launch in time for the holiday shopping season, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times. Shipments from Taiwan-based Compal are apparently scheduled to start in October, suggesting a release sometime shortly after. A CDMA version should follow in the first quarter of 2010.
Compal projects for monthly orders up to 500,000 units in the fourth quarter.
The Palm Eos is expected to come with quad-band GSM/HSDPA connectivity, a 2.63-inch HVGA display, a QWERTY thumb keyboard, 4GB of storage, A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 (A2DP and EDR), a 2MP camera with fixed focus, and an 1150mAh battery.
Rumours have suggested that the Palm Eos could sell for US$99 with a service contract or US$349(without subsidies or rebates).
