As Nokia World 2009 kicked off, Nokia announced the N97 mini, a smaller version of the Nokia N97 which had been introduced at last year’s event.
Jonas Geust, Vice President of Nokia Nseries, commented: “People want to bring their physical and online worlds together via the internet. The Nokia N97 mini is designed for this new social internet and to help navigate people and places.”
Powered by the S60 5th Edition OS, it will come with quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz)GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (900/1900/2100MHz) HSDPA connectivity, a tilting 3.2-inch touchscreen nHD 16:9 widescreen (640 by 360 pixels) display, a QWERTY keyboard, 8GB of internal memory, aGPS, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (and A2DP), a 5MP camera with dual-LED flash, a microSDHC card slot, a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, TV-out support, and a 1200mAh battery.
The Nokia N97 mini will start to ship in October 2009 and will sell for €450 before subsidies.
