Nokia to enter netbook market market?

Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo revealed earlier this week that the company is looking at the possibility of entering the netbook market. According to Kallasvuo, the increasing convergence of PCs and mobile devices presents a “lot of opportunity”. Kallasvuo did not give any hint as to when Nokia would make a decision whether to move forward or not.

Nokia and Intel recently announced a new partnership to develop new mobile computing devices. A netbook certainly could certainly be a result of this new relationship with Intel providing the Atom-based architecture and Nokia the 3G/4G connectivity.

Kallasvuo also indicated that both the recently launched N97 and E75 devices are “doing extremely well and we are overwhelmed with the response.”
