Nokia unveiled the Nokia E72 and Nokia 5530 XpressMusic phones today.
The Nokia E72 succeeds the E71, Nokia’s most successful QWERTY device to date. As the accidentally released video showed earlier, it remains very similar to the E71 but adds improvements in a number of areas as well. Among those are a new optical navigation key, a 5MP camera and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the software side, it now comes with the Nokia E75’s email client, the ability to set up IM accounts directly from the homescreen, and a new version of QuickOffice offering Microsoft Office 2007 compatibility.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is set to replace the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It will come with a 2.9-inch widescreen touchscreen display and 4GB of internal memory. It will also feature a ‘scrolling’ Contacts Bar that gives access to 20 people and their related conversations and media updates. It also features one touch shortcuts to a number of services such as Facebook and MySpace, and a solid stainless steel frame finish. It will be available in five colours.
Both the Nokia E72 and Nokia 5530 XpressMusic are expected to start shipping in the third quarter of 2009. They will sell for an estimated €350 and €199 before subsidies respectively.
