New rumour suggests OLED display for new iPhone and netbook

Apple

Rumours of an upcoming Apple netbook simply refuse to go away. Smarthouse Magazine is the latest to indicate that a source has revealed that Apple already has a netbook prototype running. The source goes on to say that this netbook will come with an OLED display made by LG. The new OLED displays could also make their way into new iPhones.

The new rumour goes against a previous one that indicated that Apple’s rumoured netbook would use a touchscreen display made by Wintek. Of course, it is also possible that Apple has more than one prototype on the go.

Apple has reportedly paid LG over US$500 million to work on new display technologies, including OLED displays with improved touch sensitivity and that can eliminate fingerprints.
