Yesterday’s story that Apple will release a touchscreen netbook later this year has been corroborated by another report. The Dow Jones Newswire is reporting that its sources have revealed a very similar story. The details line up quite neatly with those reported yesterday. According to the Dow Jones Newswire, the touchscreen panel is expected to come from Wintek and Quanta will be the manufacturer. The release date is expected to fall in the second half of the year.
The Dow Jones story also reports that the Apple netbook will sport a display measuring between 9.7 and 10-inches. One source adds that other specifications and functions are still under evaluation.
All three companies (Apple, Quanta and Wintek) declined to comment on the story.
