More rumours about Apple’s upcoming tablet have surfaced courtesy of the Taiwan Economic News. Details fall in line with what other recent rumours have suggested.
According to the report, the device will come with a 9.6-inch touchscreen, a processor from P.A. Semi (now owned by Apple), built-in HSDPA connectivity, and a “long lasting battery pack.” The report goes on to say that suppliers will provide components to Apple in December, paving the way for a February 2010 launch. If so, I suspect we could see an announcement in January. If battery volumes are a good indicator, Apple is looking to ship about 300,000 tablets a month initially,
HSDPA connectivity would suggest that the Apple tablet could be headed to AT&T (and Rogers Wireless?) rather than Verizon.
Pricing appears to be higher than earlier reports had suggested, falling between US$799 and US$999.
