According to The National Post, Rogers will add at least one Motorola Android device to its portfolio of devices in 2010. The move will allow it to diversify its range of smartphones. Rob Bruce, president of Rogers Wireless, who said that “There will be a Motorola Android device in our portfolio in 2010.” also expects that Android is going to be more “pervasive” next year.
Motorola is holding a press event tomorrow where it is widely expected to unveil two Android devices that will be available later this year.
Rogers is currently offering two Android devices, the HTC Dream and the HTC Magic. Based on the rapid drop in price (from CA$149.99 to CA$79.99 or even lower in some cases) since their release in June, it would appear that Android device sales have not met Rogers’ initial expectations. It’s good though to see that Rogers is not ready to give up on Android yet.
