It appears that Microsoft will use the same announcement strategy for Windows Mobile 7 as it did with Windows Mobile 6.5 this year. This year, Microsoft announced Windows Mobile 6.5 at MWC. Devices running the mobile operating system followed in October at a formal launch event.
During this week’s Professional Developers Conference, Microsoft Office Vice President Kurt Delbene revealed that the company will detail its plans for the next version of Windows Mobile at the MIX 2010 conference in March 2010. Presumably, it will formally announces the OS and show off its new features. A formal launch later in the year would then follow with the immediate availability of devices running Windows Mobile 7.
Microsoft also briefly posted a shot of its upcoming Office Mobile 2010, giving us a taste of the interface we can expect to see.
