We are another step closer to the release of Windows Mobile 6.5. Microsoft has released the Software Developer Tool Kit (SDK) with documentation, sample code, header and library files, emulator images and Visual Studio tools.
As expected, the SDK comes with a new set of APIs for the new Windows Mobile 6.5 touch gesture framework. The gesture APIs allow an application to handle touch gesture input and provide a visually consistent experience with the rest of the device UI.
The SDK is available two versions, one for Windows Mobile 6.5 Classic/Professional (touchscreen) and the other for WM 6.5 Standard (non-touchscreen). It is also available in six languages.
The Windows Mobile team has also posted a short tutorial to help you create your first Windows Mobile 6.5 widget.
Update: The Windows Mobile 6.5 Tool Kit is not a full SDK. You will need to install the Windows Mobile 6 SDK first.
