LG Electronics unveiled a number of new devices at CommunicAsia 2009. Among these are the LG-GW550 (with a form factor very similar to that of the Nokia E71 and the HTC Snap) and the LG-GM730 described as its new new flagship smartphone.
LG revealed only a few details about the GW550. It will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 3MP camera, a front-facing VGA camera, and a 1,300mAh battery.
Developed in partnership with Microsoft, the LG-GM730 is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 with LG’s new S-Class User Interface. Only a few additional details are available. It will come with a 5MP camera and GPS and measure 11.9 millimeters in thickness. It will be available in Black, Lime and Pale Pink.
LG did not provide any release and pricing details for the LG-GW550 but indicated that the LG-GM730 will be available in Asia in July (to coincide with the launch of the LG Application Store).
