While HTC has confirmed that that HTC Touch Pro2 (codename Rhodium) is headed to North America, it has not been so clear what carrier(s) would offer it. We now have our first clue thanks to a leaked ROM. A number of details suggest that T-Mobile may be the lucky recipient.
The ROM, identifying the device as the RHOD2100, shows a country identifier of T-MOB010. This is the same as the ID for the T-Mobile versions of the Dash and Shadow. Furthermore, the language is identified as ‘USA’.
The HTC Touch Pro2 is powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the TouchFLO 3D interface. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band (NA bands TBD) HSDPA connectivity, 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display that tilts up to reveal a 5 row QWERTY keyboard, 288MB RAM and 512MB ROM, integrated GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (and A2DP), a 3.2MP camera with auto-focus, a front-facing VGA camera, an FM radio, a microSDHC card slot, and a 1500mAh battery. It also comes with a zoom bar that will let users zoom on web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents.
T-Mobile users may finally be able to get their hands on a Windows Mobile device with a touchscreen.
