HTC unveiled two new flagship devices, the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 as the Mobile World Congress kicked off today.
Integrating innovative simplicity with unique style and an intuitive interface, the devices balance function, form and cutting-edge technology to personalize the communication and mobile Internet experience.
The HTC Touch Diamond2 is powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the TouchFLO 3D interface. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band (900/2100MHz) HSDPA connectivity, a 3.2-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 288MB RAM and 512MB ROM, integrated GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (and A2DP), a 5MP camera with auto-focus, an FM radio, a microSDHC card slot, and a 1100mAh battery. It also comes with a zoom bar that will let users zoom on web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents.
The HTC Touch Pro2 comes with very similar specifications. The main difference is the 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display that tilts up to reveal a 5 row QWERTY keyboard beneath it. Other differences are the 3.2MP camera and a larger 1500mAh battery.
The HTC Touch Pro2 also comes with HTC’s new Straight Talk technology that creates one of the most sophisticated communication experiences found on a mobile phone. Flipped over, it turns into a conference room speakerphone system.
The HTC Touch Diamond2 measures 107.85 by 53.1 by 13.7 millimeters (4.25 by 2.09 by 0.54 inches) and weighs 117.5 grams (4.15 ounces) with battery. The HTC Touch Pro2 is a bit larger at 116 by 59.2 by 17.25 millimeters (4.57 by 2.33 by 0.68 inches) and weighing 175 grams (6.17 ounces) with battery.
The HTC Touch Diamond2 will be available in Europe and Asia in early Q2 2009 and the Touch Pro2 will follow in early summer.
