HTC announced today that its highly anticipated HTC HD2 smartphone is now available in Europe (including T-Mobile UK) and Taiwan (via Taiwan Mobile). It will also ship to other Asian countries in the upcoming weeks.

The HTC HD2 is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional with HTC Sense user interface. It comes with quad-band (850/950/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual band (900/2100MHz) HSPA/WCDMA connectivity, a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 448MB RAM and 512MB ROM, built-in GPS with digital compass and HTC Footprints, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP, a 5MP camera with auto-focus and dual LED flash, a 3.5mm stereo audio jack, a micro-USB port, a microSD card slot, an FM radio, and a 1230mAh battery.

North America also got a bit of good news: HTC has reconfirmed earlier news that the HD2 would be available in the United States with a major U.S. carrier in early 2010. Hopefully we will also see it in Canada.
