AT&T and HP jointly announced that a new HP smartphone will soon be available. The HP iPAQ Glisten will be the carrier’s first smartphone with an AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display. It is very likely to be none other than the HP iPAQ KB1 that was spotted back in September.
“iPAQ Glisten adds to our innovative Windows Phone portfolio,” said Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “It meets the demands of our business customers while boasting a beautiful AMOLED touch screen and a full package of multimedia features.”
The press release did not provide a complete snapshot of the specifications but we should know these shortly. So far, we know that the HP iPAQ Glisten will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. It will also come with 3G connectivity, a full QWERTY keyboard and five-way directional pad, GPS, and Wi-Fi.
The HP iPAQ Glisten will be available from AT&T in the coming weeks for US$229.99 with an eligible two-year service contract.
