According to a Reuters source, Google is set to offer its rumoured Nexus One smartphone as early as January 5th through its own web site. It will be offered in two configurations: Unlocked or subsidized with a T-Mobile contract.
It also looks like Google’s plans do not stop there:
“In the long term Google will become a seller and get commission from operators,” the source said, adding that other operators are expected to follow T-Mobile’s lead eventually and agree to Google’s terms.
There is no word yet on specifically how much the Nexus One (assuming that this is the final name) will sell for either unlocked or subsidized.
