Since news broke that Google had handed out some Google phones to employees late last week, a number of additional details and pictures have emerged.
Pictures that have surfaced to date show a device that bears an uncanny resemblance to the rumoured HTC Passion. They also confirm that the device is powered by Google Android 2.1 and comes with a new lock screen, support for animated wallpapers, and includes Google Navigation and the new Google Goggles.
It also appears that the Google Phone could go under the name of Nexus One. FCC approval for a device called Nexus One (and manufactured by HTC) has also surfaced. It reveals the presence of quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and a microSD card slot.
Stay tuned: I suspect that we will learn more about the Google Phone in the days to come…
