Google has announced Android 2.0.1, a “minor platform release.” It is now available for developers as a downloadable component for the Android SDK.
The forthcoming update includes minor API changes, bug fixes and framework behavioral changes. DROID owners can expect an OTA update (with improved auto-focus and better voice reception) within the next few weeks.
Google had promised a minor update to Android 2.0 by the end of the year and this would appear to be it. This would suggest that the Android 2.1 version seen floating about this week will be released sometime next year.
