June 13th marked a milestone for Globalive. On that day, the company completed its first call on their Advanced Wireless Network (AWS).
This means that we’re one step closer to launching wireless services, which means better mobile voice, data, video and messaging for Canadian consumers.
Globalive’s CEO, Tony Lacavera, also provided more information about Globalive’s recent announcement that it is considering launching two brands.
After reading the thousands of comments that users wrote on Wireless Soapbox we realized that there was no “one size fits all” approach to the wireless market. Canadian consumers have varied wants and our goal is to offer the Canadian wireless customer much needed choice and change. I think this will best be accomplished by launching two separate brands.
Hopefully we will soon learn more about this dual strategy and how (and if) it differs from that of the other national carriers (each offering a value brand).
