Garmin has updated the media gallery for its upcoming nüvifone with screenshots of the new user interface that it is building for its first mobile phone. People who have used a Garmin nüvi product will find that the interface uses many of the same principles.
The gallery features shots of the home screen, a GPS navigation screen, the web browser (including shots of Google Local), an incoming call screenshot, the camera (with geotagging), the email client, the calendar and the call history.
The Garmin nüvifone will come with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, 3.5G connectivity (specific bands not disclosed), built-in GPS and a digital camera. It will run on Garmin’s own operating system.
It is currently scheduled for release sometime in the first half of 2009. Pricing information has yet to be revealed.
