The rumours were true. Fido launched its first BlackBerry device today.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 was RIM’s first Pearl model. It comes with quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, a SureType keyboard, 64MB of Flash memory, Bluetooth 2.0, a 1.3MP camera with flash, and a microSD card slot.
Prices start at CA$25 with a three-year service contract and run up to CA$399.99 without a contract. Plans start at CA$15 per month which gets you unlimited email (POP3/IMAP) and unlimited IM (Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, and BlackBerry Messenger). Data plans range from 500MB for CA$25 per month to 5GB for CA$80 per month.
