Just days after a story broke that Dell’s smartphone had met with lackluster response from mobile carriers, Dell’s CEO, Michael Dell, revealed that the company will not delay the launch of its smartphone. But Dell shed no light on when an announcement would take place and whether it would offer an unlocked version should no carrier choose to carry it.
Earlier rumours suggested that Dell was working on both Windows Mobile and Google Android devices. Different form factor options, including slide-out keypads and touchscreen interfaces, were also considered.
According to the Chinese-language Commercial Times, Dell is working with Foxconn Electronics to develop not just one smartphone but an entire line.
