Dell smartphone confirmed for China

Dell

Earlier this week, Dell confirmed that it is developing mobile devices for China Mobile. A proof-of-concept mobile device prototype, looking very much like the rumoured Dell Mini 3i, was shown off on Monday at an event for China Mobile’s applications store. But Dell provided little more on upcoming devices and timelines.

Fortunately, the Dell Mini 3i specifications have been leaked. As rumoured, it will be powered by a Google Android variant called Open Mobile System (OMS). It will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display (640 by 360), A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 3MP camera with auto-focus, and a microSD card slot. It will measure 58 by 122 by 11.7 millimeters and weigh 103 grams.

China Mobile also confirmed that the Dell device will support China Mobile’s online application store Mobile Market.
