According to the Chinese-language news portal 163.com, the upcoming mobile phone that Dell will launch in China will be known as the Ophone mini 3i. Powered by an Android variant called Open Mobile System (OMS), it will be offered by China Mobile as part of a larger family of Ophone devices.
Specifications details are still slim but it appears that the Dell mini 3i will come with only 2G GSM connectivity and a 360 by 640 display.
A launch is expected “in the middle of this month”.
At the same time, China Mobile will also unveil two other Ophones, the Lenovo O1 (rumoured as far back as April) and the Dopod A6188. Only the former will come with 3G connectivity via TD-SCDMA connectivity.
