Bell Mobility announced today that the BlackBerry Tour is now available through its web site and will be available in stores today as well. It looks like Bell decided to bump up the release date (originally targeting July 17th) to get the Tour out before TELUS did. TELUS is targeting July 15th for their release.
The BlackBerry Tour is a world phone that comes with support for both CDMA and GSM-based bands – dual-band EV-DO Rev. A, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and single-band (2100MHz) UMTS/HSDPA. It comes with a 2.44-inch half VGA+ (480 by 360 at 245ppi) display, 256MB of Flash memory, a built-in QWERTY thumb keyboard, built-in GPS (with geo-tagging support), Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2DP), a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 3.2MP camera with auto-focus, an SDHC card slot supporting cards up to 16GB, and a 1400mAh battery.
Bell Mobility will sell the BlackBerry Tour for CA$249.95 with a three-year contract (with data plan). The price jumps to CA$549.95 with a two-year contract and CA$649.95 with a one-year contract. Without a contract, it will be available for CA$699.95.
