RIM announced the BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone earlier this week. With the announcement came word that it was headed to Verizon a bit later this month. Shortly after, Sprint also revealed that it would carry the new Curve.
The BlackBerry Curve 8530 will be powered by a 528MHz processor. It will come with CDMA/EV-DO connectivity, a QVGA display, a QWERTY keyboard and touch-sensitive trackpad, 256MB RAM and 256MB flash memory, GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 2MP camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a microSD/SDHC memory card slot (supporting cards up to 16GB), and a 1150mAh battery. It will be offered in Black and Smoky Violet.
Verizon will offer the BlackBerry Curve 8530 starting on November 20th for US$99.99 after a US$100 mail-in rebate and a two-year voice and data service contract. Sprint has yet to announce specific availability dates and pricing.
