Bell announced yesterday that it had completed its acquisition of Virgin Mobile Canada. Bell acquired the 50 percent share it did not already own for CA$142 million. It also secured a long-term brand licensing agreement with the Virgin Group (including support for the Virgin Festival).
Bell also confirmed that Virgin Mobile Canada will have access to its upcoming national HSPA network expected to launch in February 2010.
The Source, which Bell acquired earlier this year, will also start to carry Virgin Mobile products and services in January 2010.
It remains to be seen whether Bell will continue to support its second discount brand, Solo Mobile, or if it will fold it into the Virgin brand.
