Bell Mobility is the latest Canadian carrier to lose the right to call itself the most reliable network in its advertising. The ruling by a British Columbia court follows a similar ruling against Rogers Wireless earlier.
Rogers Wireless sued Bell earlier this month. It argued that Bell’s reliability data was misleading as it did not include data from its new HSPA network.
It does not appear that Bell will appeal. Bell spokeswoman Claire Fiset said:
“With that judgment today, it means no wireless network in Canada can make a most reliable claim in Canada right now. So if we can’t claim it, nobody can.”
