Some trademark and domain name information suggests that Apple could call its upcoming/rumoured tablet device the iSlate. It appears that Apple owns both the domain name iSlate.com and the iSlate trademark in a number of countries.
The domain name iSlate.com was first registered by Eurobox Ltd. in October 2004. The current registrar is MarkMonitor.com which manages some domain names for Apple. It also appears that Apple was listed as Registrant for a period of time in 2007 before the information was hidden.
Meanwhile, the U.S. iSlate trademark is owned by a company called Slate Computing (registered in Delaware). The same company also owns a trademark in the European Union. TechCrunch ties the submissions back to some companies that have ties with Apple.
It all seems to add up to suggest that Apple could unveil the iSlate next month.
