According to All Things Digital, Apple is planning a media event for September 9th. Their sources indicate that the event will focus on upgrades to the iPod family and an updated version of iTunes. Unfortunately, it does not appear that the rumoured Apple tablet will be announced then.
Among the rumoured upgrades are the addition of a camera and GPS to some models as well as capacity upgrades (perhaps up to 64GB on the iPod touch).
On the music side, a new version of iTunes could be unveiled. It could add features like Blu-ray support and new social capabilities (integration to Facebook perhaps?). A new album format could also be introduced.
It’s not clear at this point whether Steve Jobs will deliver the keynote.
