The recently spotted HTC Click is headed to China, according to Jackie Zhang, marketing director at Dopod which distributes HTC devices in China. It will launch there before the end of the year, likely after the launch of the HTC Hero. Both will be offered by China Unicom.

The HTC Click will come with 3G connectivity and two detachable front covers. No other details about specifications were revealed during the interview. It will sell for about 3,400 yuan (US$470). The HTC Hero which will precede it will sell for 5,600 yuan (US$820). Both will be customized to meet Chinese standards. For example, the HTC Hero will support a Chinese Wi-Fi security protocol and will not come with Google Maps.

Dopod is also planning another handset which will use China’s own 3G TD-SCDMA standard. Few details are known about it but it could use China Mobile’s proprietary operating system (based on Android).

Dopod is also planning to release as many as seven other Android devices in China in 2010, according to Zhang.
