Android 2.0-powered Samsung Spica and BigFoot revealed

We know that Samsung is entering the Google Android arena with the Samsung I7500. Details have now emerged about two other Android-powered handsets, codenamed Spica and Bigfoot, that will follow in Q3 2009.

While Google Android 1.5 just came out, both these devices will be powered by the upcoming Google Android 2.0 (codenamed Donut). Both will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (900/1700/2100MHz) HSDPA connectivity, a 3.0-inch WQVGA display, 100MB of user memory, GPS, Wi-Fi, USB2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3MP auto-focus camera, a digital compass, a microSD card slot, and a 1500mAh battery. Interestingly, the Spica will apparently use Samsung’s TouchWiz interface rather than Android’s.

The biggest difference between the two devices will be the form factor. From the pictures, it appears that the Spica will not have a keyboard whereas the BigFoot will come with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Interestingly, the Samsung Bigfoot looks a lot like the upcoming T-Mobile G1 v.2 (codenamed Bigfoot). Could they be the same device?
