According to the Business Mirror, Acer will launch its first Android smartphone in September. Details about the Acer A1 are slim but it will come apparently come with a touchscreen.
Just last month, Acer unveiled four new phones during MWC. And Acer is not done. The same article reports that Acer will launch three other phones in September. A second Android device could also show up in the fourth quarter.
Combine this breadth of models with Acer’s plans to offer at least a number of these for free to customers with carrier contracts and it’s clear that Acer is intending to become a major player quickly.
