It appears that Sprint’s roadmap for the deployment of WiMAX in 2009 has been leaked. While we have known about a number of these, a few new cities have also popped up on the list.
According to the roadmap, Portland, Las Vegas and Atlanta will join Baltimore (which launched last September) on August 16th. Five more cities will follow in the third quarter with eight more, including Chicago and Philadelphia, slated for the fourth quarter. Baltimore is also scheduled to receive an upgrade in the fourth quarter.
It appears that other large U.S. cities, such as New York and Houston, will have to wait until 2010.
