It looks like The Boy Genius Report has landed a 2009 product roadmap (or at least Q2 and Q3 as the title slide suggests) for Fido. Even they are not quite sure that this is all confirmed so take the information with a grain of salt.
The highlight has to be the 4GB iPhone 3G. Specifications listed show quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) HSDPA connectivity, a 2MP camera and iChat video calling, suggesting a front-facing camera as well. It would sell for CA$99 with a three-year voice and data service plan.
Other devices on the horizon include the Sony Ericsson Z780i (described as a Fido Flagship 3G Phone) for CA$75 with a two-year contract, the Nokia E55 for CA$25, and both the Nokia E71 (Fido Flagship Smartphone) and the BlackBerry Curve 8320 for CA$50. The last three all will require three-year voice and data plans at those prices.
Let’s hope this leak is real if only for that 4GB iPhone…
