August 22nd came and went and there was no Dell Inspiron 910 announcement. Now comes word that Dell will announce its netbook on Thursday, September 4. The new date comes from Box.net. The company’s OpenBox application which provides online file management will be preinstalled on the netbook.
On the other hand, Gizmodo reports that the Inspiron 910 will be announced one day later on Friday, September 5th.
The Dell Inspiron 910 will be powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor with an Intel 945GSE chipset with a choice of Windows XP SP2 or Ubuntu 8.04. It will come with an 8.9-inch TrueLife display (resolution of 1024 x 600), 512MB or 1GB RAM options, 4GB/8GB/16GB SSD options, 802.11g/n Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth, 3 USB ports, an SDHC card slot, options for either a VGA or 1.3MP webcam, and an option for 3G connectivity.
Update: An announcement this week has been confirmed by a Dell spokesperson.
