In a rather terse press release, Vodafone announced today that it will launch the Apple iPhone is ten new countries later this year.
Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.
Meanwhile, Telecom Italia announced today (in an equally terse press release) that it will offer the iPhone in Italy later this year.
A The New York Times article goes on to suggest that Apple would like to have the Apple iPhone on sale in Europe in August before the start of the traditional holiday season. If earlier rumours that the iPhone has begun or is nearing the start of manufacturing, Apple might achieve its goal.
