This is not the first time that rumours are floating about that T-Mobile could expand its operations to include Canada. But this time, the rumour comes with additional details courtesy of The Boy Genius.
Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile’s parent company, has apparently received pre-approval to introduce its wireless service to Canada. Headed up by a Canadian, operations could start in 2009 with aggressive service plans, including a CAD$75/month unlimited BlackBerry plan. T-Mobile Canada would also offer many of the same devices that if offers in the US already.
Last month, Mobile in Canada also reported that T-Mobile was considering operations in Canada.
Should this rumour turn out to be true, it will be interesting to see how Deutsche Telekom deals with foreign ownership rules in Canada.
