The Sony XPERIA X1 is one eagerly anticipated device. One thing that many want to know is when it will become available. To date, Sony Ericsson have provided little information beyond saying that it would be sometime in the second half of 2008. A more precise release date may have been outed by online software retailer Handango. Looking for software that will be compatible with the XPERIA X1, Handango put out the call to developers in its latest Content Partner Newsletter:
The Xperia X1 will launch in mid-September 2008 with the Handango InHand service on the device. This is a fantastic opportunity for all our Partners to sell their products directly through a dedicated on-device channel.
Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and the XPERIA panel interface, it will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS connectivity, a 3-inch WVGA (800×480) touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 400MB of internal memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.2MP camera, and a microSD expansion slot.
