A recently published white paper on the upcoming Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 reveals that there will be two variants of the X1. The difference will be in the bands covered by the two devices. Aimed at North America, the X1a will come with quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) UMTS/HSPA connectivity. The rest of the world will get the X1c with quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and tri-band (900/1900/2100MHz) UMTS/HSPA connectivity instead.
Interestingly, the U.S. Sony Ericsson web site still lists the 1700MHz band for the X1. Could there a X1b variant also be lurking somewhere (For T-Mobile?)? Or will it get dropped by the time the X1 hits the street?
Sony Ericsson also claims that the X1 will be capable of 10 hours of GSM or 6.5 hours of 3G talk time.
