Sling Media has announced that it will release SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry later this year. The latest mobile client will be shown off next week at CES running on a BlackBerry Pearl 8120. It will require a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
“SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry has been a top customer request since we launched the original Slingbox Classic in 2005, and being a BlackBerry addict myself I am particularly excited about this announcement,” said Blake Krikorian, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Sling Media. “Combining the best of breed email device with the ability to watch and control your living room TV is a killer combo.”
Like versions for other mobile devices, it will be available for USD$29.99.
Sling Media will also unveil the Slingbox PRO-HD which will offer multiple inputs and outputs, including digital audio and a digital (ATSC/QAM) tuner, the ability to stream up to 1080i and 5.1 surround sound. It will be available in Q3 for USD$399.99.
