First released last month, Pointui Home, the free replacement Windows Mobile interface designed with controls large enough to manage with your finger, has been updated. This release now extends our support for SmartPhones and opens up the chance for those with PDAs that don’t have phone capability to enjoy Home.
Among the new features (aside from support for devices without touchscreens) of version 1.02b, you’ll find a new voicemail count display under the missed call count, new customization options, improved battery consumption, the Appointments summary now only shows 7 days of appointments, and a number of bug fixes. A new black skin for Pointui Home is also available now. The release notes will give you a complete list of changes.
It is currently available for Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6 devices with QVGA screens (screen resolutions supported: 240×240, 240×320 and 320×240). A version for Windows Mobile 2003 is in the final stages of development.
Pointui Home remains completely free (although they gratefully accept donations).
